What to see and things to do in Pescarenico

Visit Pescarenico

Percarenico is a stunning small village on Lake Como just outside the city of Lecco. It lies along the Adda river and is certainly worth a short visit. Since its waters are rich in fish, the inhabitants of Pescarenico have been devoted to fishing for centuries.
Also, many of the scenes narrated in the famous novel I Promessi Sposi - The Betrothed - are set here in this small village.

What to do, to visit and to see in Pescarenico

Pecarenico is a cute village and is well worth a walk, best at sunset.
We suggest leaving your car in the parking lot on Via d'Adda (45.849543, 9.389606) and stroll along the Adda River, along the cycle path called Ciclabile laghi Garlate and Olginate. After the Bridge Azzone Visconti, also known as Ponte Vecchio, one of Lecco's landmark monuments dating back to 1338, you will find the fascinating Isola Viscontea.

You will then have to leave the lakefront and walk down the tiny Via dell'Isola (here peek into the windows of a really pretty atelier on your right. You won’t be disappointed) and then turn right as soon as you can onto Via Antonio Corti, which will take you back to the lakeside. Here is where the magic of Pescarenico begins, where time seems to stand still.

Beaches and lidos, where to swim in Pescarenico

There are no equipped lidos, but the river is accessible everywhere. However, we do not recommend swimming in these waters, which are often moved by strong currents.
