The Valle Intelvi Regional Forest is managed by the ERSAF (Forest Rangers). The forest has an extension of nineteen acres, of which ten are pasture and nine are beech and birch woods. This forest occupies the upper part of the natural amphitheater of Schignano, in a picturesque alternation of woods, pastures and wonderful landscapes over Lake Como.

The path.

After having parked the car in the hamlet of Posa di Schignano (840 m), take the path at your left which climbs up to Colma di Binate. After having crossed a bridge, turn to your left again and follow the path towards Alpe Nava (952 m). You cross a meadow and carry on until you meet a junction where you have to turn right towards the woods. Keep on climbing till you reach the Conca (Basin) Alpe Comana (1100 m), where this route can also assume an anthropological interest. In fact, in this place there is a rural architectural complex formed by a house dwelling, a stable, a building for tools and materials, and a grotto for the preservation food and the seasoning of cheese. Not far from this building complex, there is a pond for the watering of the flock. This alpine mountain complex has been expertly restored by maintaining its original architecture and it has also been valued with the realization of a farmhouse hotel. 
Proceeding along the route, you will climb to reach in about  40 minutes the Mountain Comana (1210 m), from where you can enjoy a fantastic view over lake Como and the mountains of the Intelvi Valley. 
From Alpe di Comana also starts the Trail of the many Expressions that leads the visitors to discover a succession of sculptures along the path that climbs to reach the summit of Monte Comana.
