Time: about h- 3. – but it vary with your choice of the route

You can start the route either coming from the lake or coming by Bus .
1 - From the landing station of Moltrasio you walk southward, along Via Regina Vecchia. After the monument to Vincenzo Bellini, turn right and take Via Raschi (not via Durini), and you climb up along a step-lane that leads to the centre of the Village, flanking the Northern side of the Passalacqua Palace. You reach an asphalted road and just before the Parish Church, you cross it to then continue along Via Raschi till you reach an arcade. The alley passes between the church and the Cooperativa di Consuno of Moltrasio and goes out in the square Umberto 1st. At the opposite side of the square, you take Via Giuseppe Bianchi and start climb along the northern side of a stream, passing an underground alley to cross the State Road SS. 340, nearby the waterfall. As you come across the carriage road to Tosnacco – Casarico, you take to your right to reach the centre of Tosnacco. (320 m. of altitude).
2 - If you come by car or by Bus, it is better to choose as starting point the hamlet of Tosnacco because there you can find a large parking area as well as the Bus Stop for the line C 29 from Como.
From the little square where there is the Trattoria (restaurant) del Fagiano, behind a little fountain, you take a large step-lane and at the first crossing (about 10 m. after), you turn to the right and pick up Via Linera, with road sign board indicating Panoramica per Urio e Carate. It is a not much known cobbled path, but it is very nice and in good conditions.
As soon as you get out of the settlement it starts a flat and sunny route. As you reach Pancino place, you’ll meet two tubs which are filled with very fresh spring running water. You proceed along the flat path, avoiding the descent toward the Statal Road and the Climb that takes to the Mounts of Urio. You carry on till you reach a cellar with a door closed with a big padlock and further you’ll reach the cemetery of Urio, at which side there is another climb to the Mount of Urio which you ignore.
After 20 m. you’ll reach a bridge over the stream Fesàa and you come to a recently restored area. As you pass the bridge you have to take to the left, along the pedestrian road. Just before entering the settlement of Cavadino, at your left you meet Via Taroni that leads to the Shrine of the Saint Trinity at Pobiano. The hillock on which is set the shrine is about a hundred metre above the route, but the landscapes you’ll enjoy over there justify a 3o minutes’ deviation of a steep climb.
You cross the settlement of Cavadino and pass by a little church straight after which you keep to the left just before an arcade that climbs down towards the State Road which you ignore. As you go out of the hamlet, you’ll first meet a wash house and then you’ll cross a stream over a stone bridge, you pass through some important excavation works from where you’ll reach the nice little Romanesque church of Santa Martha and the cemetery of Carate.
Having passed the church, you walk down along the step-lane flanked by the 14 chapels of a Via Crucis of the 18th century. You cross the State Road through an underground way and you’ll meet the carriage road that goes down to reach the along lake of Carate. You’ll cross it and almost in the opposite side, you’ll take Via San Rocco. From this point you walk parallel to the lake and after about 20 minutes you’’ meet the along lake of Laglio.
For your return you can choose to go back along the same route, or take a bus of the line C 10 or C 20 at one of the many bus-stops, or walk along the Via Regina Vecchia (no pavement) that runs along the lake and allows you to reach the dock of Laglio and, next to it, Villa Oleandra, nowadays property of George Clooney.
