A few kilometers from Menaggio is a place unknown by many tourists that offers a very stunning view over Menaggio. Finding this mysterious place is really easy. 
One needs to get to the hamlet of Loveno by car, cab or by renting electric bikes from Canaja Ebikes next to the supermarket Conad in Menaggio. 
From Loveno you go up via Catulla Milyus Vigoni, which then becomes via Per Barna. You reach the end of the road and park. There are two dirt  roads closed to traffic. One leads to Barna and to the panoramic route, the other one to our tower. You walk along the track until you find on your right the sign that takes you into a pine forest. Reaching then the Tower Galbiati is easy and intuitive.

But what is a tower doing in the middle of a forest?

Lake Como has many isolated towers in various heights. They were signal towers used to warn of the arrival of invading armies. However, this is not the case of the Tower Galbiati.
