Visit Bellagio, Lake Como
Bellagio, probably the most popular destination on Lake Como, is located exactly in the middle of the lake and divides the Lecco branch from the Como branch.
Its privileged position might also be the reason of its name. Most likely, in fact, the word Bellagio comes from the Latin word Bilacus (= two lakes), referring to the two distinct branches that originate at this very point.
The area around the town is very large, climbing from the lakeshore to the hamlet of Monte San Primo.
