Under the square of the "Chiesa della Madonna Immacolata" there is a fortification dating back to the First World War.
Part of the Cadorna Defence Line, its purpose was to block access towards Milan and the Po Valley in the event of enemy invasion.
A beautiful and well-preserved war work, formed by an entrance corridor and a main gallery from which six arms branched off to serve the warehouse and to store explosives and detonators.
The demolition charges were stored in three cisterns and six inner shafts.
The underground room housed the electric generator.
