Visit Faggeto Lario, Lake Como
Faggeto Lario is a small village on the Como branch in the direction of Bellagio, located just after the charming Villa Pliniana. Ancient tombs have been found here as evidence of an antique Roman settlement.
Its hamlets of Molina, Lemna and Palanzo were connected by the ancient Strada Regia, which led from Brunate to Bellagio.
Starting from Faggeto Lario you can enjoy truly impressive hikes and walks on Mounts Bolettone (1317 m.), Pizzo dell'Asino (1272 m.) and Palanzone (1436 m.).
Near the summit of Mount Palanzone you will also find Guglielmo’s Cavern (Grotta di Guglielmo), a suggestive cave of karst origin among the best known in the Lario area.

Chiesa della Madonna Addolorata – Church of Our Lady of Sorrows
Also known as Chiesa del Soldo, it is located in Palanzo in a panoramic position, only 15 minutes’ walk from the town center.
It is said that St. Charles wanted to build a large shrine dedicated to Our Lady, but the villagers did not want to give their land and vineyards away. From that moment on, all the willows in the area, whose branches were used to bind the vines, died.
The villagers thought of a curse and reconsidered building the church. Every year, on the evening before St. Joseph's Day, people still light a large propitiatory bonfire.
The medieval tower and the historic press “Torchio”
In the Palanzo area you can still visit the remains of a medieval tower and an amazing historic winepress dating back to 1572. It is not a simple ancient winepress, but a true work of art carved from a single chestnut tree trunk 12 meters long and 3 meters in circumference. Because of these outstanding features, as well as its good state of preservation, the press has been declared a national monument.

Faggeto Lido is municipally owned but privately operated. You can find the Lido in the hamlet of Riva di Faggeto.
The Lido offers a beach bar with breakfast drinks and menus, sunbed rentals, and wifi.
